This Nutcracker is made by the legendary Steinbach company. For generations Steinbach has brought joy and pleasure to collectors from around the world. The Steinbach Nutcrackers are undoubtedly the most famous ones in the world. Steinbach means highest level of quality and brilliancy in design. Some of the limited editions by Steinbach have increased considerably in value through the years. This Nutcrackers belongs to the CHUBBY series. Please consider that Steinbach products are very popular collectible items that are not stored in warehouses in mass quantities. On some occasions the item will be specially made for you. The regular period before we will be able to ship this product is 1-3 weeks (+ time from us to your home). Depending on the production process at Steinbach this period could be up to 6 weeks. With limited editions it could be possible that the produced number of pieces has reached the limit before we are notified and we are not able to deliver. Nutcracker description by Mr. Steinbach:
Every year around Christmastime in the United States, you see advertising placards from the city operas of cities throughout the country plastered all about. And year after year, there are usually famous ballet dance companies performing Tchaikovsky's beloved ""Nutcracker Suite"" everywhere. It was in the year 1892 that a nutcracker, just like the ones we make, provided Tchaikovsky with the inspiration, to compose the ""Nutcracker"" ballet in St. Petersburg. There were of course literary works that preceded his composition, which included the story written by E.T.A. Hoff¬mann of Königsberg entitled ""The Nutcracker & The Mouse King"", and later the story ""King Nutcracker & Poor Reinhold"" written around 1852 by Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann.
For the participants in the ballet, as well as for just about anyone who has ever seen the performance, our Nutcracker Suite Series is a wonderful reminder of the enchanting cast of characters. The nutcrackers that we have already created include: Herr Drosselmeyer, The Mouse King, Clara, The Prince, The Sugar Plum Fairy, The Toy Soldier, The Russian Dancer, The Chinese Dancer, The Spanish Dancer and Tchaikovsky. Each and every one of these nutcrackers has been crafted by hand in a strictly limited numbered edition.
