The Erzgebirge music boxes have become very popular over the last 20 years. Although other Erzgebirge items like the Christmas pyramid and the nutcracker are more popular, the music boxes have become an important part of Erzgebirge Folk Art. Most workshops have added music boxes to their range of products and you can find a large number of wooden music boxes in the Erzgebirge-palace.

contact us because we do not state what kind of melody a specific music box plays. On some music boxes we have this information but most do not have any information about the melody. The reason for this is that the melody is subject to change very often. There are only a very few companies in the world that still make high quality musical movements. Those companies always make very large numbers of musical movements with the same melody. In order to be able to continuously craft music boxes the Erzgebirge workshops sometimes have to take what’s available at certain moment. They will always be able to get a Christmas melody for a Christmas theme music box, but which exact melody they will get depends on what is just produced by the manufacturer of the musical movements. We decided to better not state any melody instead of mentioning a melody that the music box might not be playing when a customer receives the music box.
