Hubrig Volkskunst

The company Hubrig Folk Art, located in Zschorlau in the beautiful region of the Western Ore Mountains, is one of the leading names when it comes to angels and other miniature figures. Thomas Hubrig, a Shoemaker’s son, took over the family business in 1990. As his father’s workshop had already made some handcrafted traditional candle arches, (on a sewing machine repurposed for fretwork!), Thomas Hubrig decided to change the production entirely into handcrafted wooden items and miniatures he loved so much.

The little new company grew fast and has now several workshops. The name Hubrig is famous for his wide range of miniatures, all of which carry the unmistakable, romantic, playful and colorful Hubrig design. Hubrig Volkskunst also took care to create motifs, which are not only suitable for Christmas time. Hubrig figures can be used through all seasons.

Some of the most famous production lines are the Hubrig Orchestra Angels, as well as the Hubrig Winter Children and Flower Children. But also the merry music-making Hubrig bugs and beetles or the Easter bunnies have now become sought-after collector's items. Surely the rich nature of their homeland region serves the Hubrig designers as an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

As a special bonus Hubrig also produces the corresponding platforms and additional decorations for all of his product lines. Matching miniature houses and fields of snow for the winter children, meadows for the flower children, clouds and "celestial candle arches" for the Hubrig angels and other accessories ensure that the Hubrig figures can be arranged in a very stylish way. For even more variation, the details of different lines can often be combined with each other. While creating Hubrig’s miniature worlds you can almost feel as if the sceneries of fairy tales and children's books have become “three-dimensional” and alive. Feel free to have a try!
