German Christmas Nutcracker - King Red - Product Information
This wonderful piece is made by the Füchtner workshop who is a member of Dregeno Seiffen. The ancestor of this workshop is the fathers of the German Nutcracker. The Wilhelm Füchtner workshop built the first German nutcracker in 1870. Still today the Füchtner workshop tries to built their nutcrackers as close as possible to the original model of Wilhelm Füchtner. With this nutcracker you get a piece of German handcraft history that dates back to the 19th century and has made the small Erzgebirge region famous outside of Germany. Also since the Füchtner workshop is rather small they do not make very many of these pieces every year which gives this nutcracker some exclusiveness.
