Knuth Neuber

The company Knuth Neuber in the famous “toy village” Seiffen is an Erzgebirge (Ore Mountain) art workshop with a long tradition. In 1892, Emil Neuber founded the workshop for the production of wooden kitchen utensils and table decorations, and soon the author of the long family tradition also began with the production of wooden toys. In the meantime Christian Neuber, who was trained as a wooden toy maker in his own company, has followed in the footsteps of the founder's great-great-great-grandson. After his father Knuth, his father Holger, his father Hans, his father Arthur and his father Emil Neuber, the history of the family business now has spanned over six generations!
Already at the time of the fall of the Wall, the Neuber workshops built the first Kurrende groups as well as small churches and wooden houses. The Neubers have continuously expanded their product range and produce doll beds as well as original folk art and Christmas decorations from the Ore Mountains. Especially Christmas pyramids and candle arches in classical but also interesting modern forms, stand in the core of the broad offer.

Knuth Neuber Candle Arches

The candle arches made by Knuth Neuber workshop are devoted primarily to classical motifs. At the centre of the Neuber candle arch “Church of Seiffen” a Kurrende (carol singer) group in the traditional dark coats is standing next to the famous church, between fine handmade wood chip trees. It is illuminated from above, but also from the shining windows of the Seiffen church which - like the two houses that frame the scenery - is illuminated from the inside. A very colourful, richly equipped model is the beautiful candle Arch “Erzgebirge” (Ore Mountain Theme), which depicts the typical crafts of the beautiful region, represented by typical traditional figures in warm colours.

Knuth Neuber Christmas Pyramids

The Ore Mountain traditions stand in the foreground of the Knuth Neuber Christmas Pyramids. Beautiful and often multicolored figures and miniatures, as well as little wood chip trees, houses and other accessories illustrate the lovely sceneries. The showpiece is the large Neuber pyramid “Christmas in Seiffen” which shows all the creativity and craftsmanship of the Neubers on four floors: On the pyramid driven by candles (as always, we recommend the quality products from JEKA ), the Seiffen town center with church, houses and figures passes the viewer. On the upper floors you’ll find the classic symbols of the Ore Mountain Christmas season - miners and angels, little riders, traders -, above them the carol singers, and at the very top under the golden poinsettia the romantic motif of the deer at their feeding trough.

Also the smaller Christmas pyramids show the love of experimentation and innovative details as well as a great variety of forms: under triangular, oval or even circular frames - mostly left in their natural wood colours - all kinds of romantic folk scenes rotate - on the very original Neuber pyramid “Christmas Magic” Santa Claus even flies past with his reindeer sled. And why only winter motifs? The pretty Neuber pyramid “Summer Meadow” shows a romantic country scene in warm colours during the blooming summer season.

Quality

The Knuth Neuber workshop works with maple, ash, cherry and larch wood from all over Europe, which is prepared for the original Erzgebirge wood art in the neighbouring sawmill. The figures are turned by hand with great precision, carved and painted in bright colours with fine details.
