Kunsthandwerk Marlen Tröger
Since 2012, the company Marlen Tröger has been capturing the hearts of Ore Mountain wood art enthusiasts. The small enterprise, Kunsthandwerk Marlen Tröger, has gained recognition for its modern wood art and jewelry. Like many other artisans, Marlen Tröger, a trained wood turner and wooden toy maker, began her journey by creating her first pieces in a shed and at the kitchen table. Her expertise, gained from studying applied arts in wood design, product, and object design, enabled her to professionally develop and produce these beautiful crafts.
In September 2016, the company relocated to a workshop store in Limbach-Oberfrohna, where dedicated hands and creative minds bring the crafts to life. The success of this small company doesn't rely on a large number of employees, but rather on a wealth of self-confidence, innovative ideas, and the courage to try new things. At the heart of their work is the constant effort to capture the unique beauty of nature in its purest form.
Marlen Tröger hand nativities, star arches and tea light sets
Tröger Hand Nativity: Marlen Tröger aims to "make the miracle of Christ’s birth tangible in your own hands." Her so-called hand nativities are quite unique: the handcrafted nativity scenes, inside of a bowl with silky smooth surface, invite you not only to look at them but, above all, to hold and touch them. Inside the sphere, Mary and Joseph stand symmetrically, leaning against each other in an intimate pose, holding the baby Jesus. Above the Holy Family, a golden star, the archetypal symbol of the Nativity, breaks the perfect curve of the open sphere. This star allows an additional ray of light to enter the sphere's interior.
Marlen Tröger's hand nativities, with their round shape and focus on essentials, radiate a profound sense of peace and security. The open spheres are 3.5 inches in diameter, turned from oiled lime wood, and glazed in blue, gray, natural, red, and white, leaving the natural grain of the wood visible. The figures are made of colored maple wood by the Crottendorf turnery. The year is inscribed on a crescent-shaped piece of wood that serves as the base for the nativity scene. Additional figures, such as the Magi or shepherds, can be purchased to complete the overall picture of the Nativity scene.
Marlen Tröger star arches and tea light sets
The peaceful Holy Family scene is also available without the globe under a simple arch of stars on a wooden pedestal. Marlen Tröger’s Holy Family with Star Arch is available in natural and colored version.
Another alternative is the Marlen Tröger tealight set with the Holy Family under the Star Arch. The candlelight immerses the figures in a solemn light and creates a very special contemplative mood. The round chip box included can be used as a base for this set.
