In the climatic health resort of Seiffen, affectionately known as the “Toy Village”, the 2000 inhabitants of the town share life with thousands and thousands of small figures such as nutcrackers, Easter bunnies, smokers and other miniatures. Numerous smaller and larger handicraft enterprises successfully dedicate themselves to the task of combining traditional wood craft and modernity. The design-oriented company “Näumanns Kunsthandwerk” scores not only with emotionally moving handicrafts in a new design language but also with innovative ideas and cute little figures. The family business of Marita and Michael Näumann has given life to a very special bunch of whights, which we would like to introduce to you in the following. The figures created with great attention to detail, are quite popular by young and old. Come with us on a journey to the land of the lively Näumanns Wights and their friends.

Näumann's Wights

Cheeky, cheerful and irresistibly likeable, this is how one could describe the family of Näumann's Wights. The little creatures with pink noses, bold looks and crooked pointed caps are created in cooperation with the artist and designer Andreas H. Fleischer. They are always cheerful in everything they do. The cute little figures have a particularly charming facial expression and gesture. They spread optimism everywhere they go, and an almost infectious cheerful hustle and bustle. Whether as an eager craftsman, cheeky Christmas wimp, stollen baker or gardener - Näumann's Wights do everything with cheerfulness and composure. Their numerous animal friends - cute little birds, sheep or smiling donkeys - like to come along into the garden or watch them renovate. Numerous accessories such as fences, ladders, tools, little trees with tiny apples or firs -which can be decorated with real little Christmas tree balls - allow the Näumann's Wights to be set in an individual lively setting. Further specialities of the series are the wights with candlesticks or the fumo smoke wights. In the metal holder at the base an incense cone can be burned. The funny wight looking outside obviously likes this very much.

Näumann's Kavex Naticity ensemble

The elements of the timelessly beautiful Kavex nativity present themselves in a consistently modern design and combine tradition and modernity in an unique way: the basic forms are inspired by the ancient craft of tube drilling. In the Middle Ages wooden pipes drilled out of meter-long tree trunks were used as water pipes. They were connected with metal rings. Both elements - cut open “wooden tubes” and gently shimmering accents like small metal rods and rings - are combined in an unprecedented way in the Näumanns Kavex nativity. They form an extremely effective and emotionally appealing overall picture. The heads and hands of the Kavex figures are movable - thanks to the aluminium wire connections they can carefully be bent into the desired position to create a very individual expression. For the design of this extraordinary nativity Näumann's workshop won the coveted “Tradition and Form” award in 2015. Presentation Both the Näumanns Wights and the figures of the Näumanns Kavex Nativity (as well as matching accessories) can be presented on oval platforms in natural, grey or white. They can also be optionally arranged in an atmospheric way, illuminated by a beautifully shaped, wooden LED arch. “Näumanns Holzkunst” is a member of the “Association of Erzgebirge artisans and toy manufacturers e. V.” This seal vouches for the high quality of handmade products from the Ore Mountain region.
